I'm right aren't I. Alex kid reminds me of monkey from a Japanese show. He's so Japanese esque, yet I feel Seag went ' Alex the Kidd isn't hip enough, let's make sonic and forget Alex Kidd completely '.
Alex Kidd, unlike sonic could be in so many different types of games. A Mario 64 kind of game, an RPG or imagine Goeman mystery ninja but Alex Kidd instead?! Sega really wasted a good character!
So... why do you like Sonic?

Yes I agree! In fact ALL of Sega's pre-Sonic games need to make a comeback! I mean we've seen how some of them would work on a modern console thanks to games like Bayonetta so why not?santefering wrote:Sonic games have been bloody awful. But I still love sonic 1, 2 and sonic adventure. I must admit I feel sorry for poor Alex Kidd, he deserves a new game
Also, I don't understand how Sonic 2 is considered a standard for the Sonic series. The same thing applies to Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Sonic 2 and Sonic 3&K are entirely different from Sonic 1. Sonic CD was also kinda bad as well.
Sonic 1 was pretty good, and when I rent Sonic Generations, I'll be able to play the original game with unlimited continues. That's a plus. It's probably the most solid of the original Sonic games.
Sonic 2 had a tone to it that somewhat makes me want to throw up. If you listen to the themes for Emerald Hill Zone, Casino Night Zone, Hill Top Zone, and practically every track in this game, it's different from Sonic 1. I believe this game was awful.
Sonic CD, everything was awful.
Sonic 3&K, it's extremely bland and linear.
Also, I hate 2D platformers in general, so maybe that's why I have a hard time with Sonic games.
