SEGA of Europe and Americajust annonced that there is a new SEGA Rally game coming out....for XBLA and PSN =D just after I buy SEGA Rally 2 for my dreamcast aswell
Why would anyone who bought Sega Rally originally want this? It's the same game but with less stuff, I can tell those are the old tracks and cars just from the screenshots.
Because they like Sega rally and they want to play it again. And there's the people that didn't buy it originally aswell that might wanna give it a try. Simples really. I'll get the trial for this and go from there. I play both 1 and 2 pretty often so im in no rush for this myself.

Well Sega Rally has been dead online since about 2 weeks after it was released, so if they are banking on some built in fan base lapping this up they aren't going to sell that much and advertising the online aspect is even stranger. And you can get the original for what, a fiver, second hand at the minute, so I don't see the purpose of this truncated version.
It didn't sell when it came out, that's why I don't get rereleasing an even worse port.

Should release the first Sega Rally or Daytona then. At least there is a bit of nostalgic sentiment for them. Or Scud Racer. Or that recent racing game Yu Suzuki made. Anything.
But no, we get the thing that no-one wanted. Again. But worse.
Why would SEGA release a quick and easy port job on a platform they seem to have had success in releasing quick and easy port jobs when the original game is long dead? Baffling.

It's still there now but the game is being removed when the Ferrari licence expires.
