I love BGAE but I'm not sure weather to pick this up as I already own it on the PS2 so apart from the tarted up graphics is there anything new in the game?

Also today I picked this up.

Used to play the Mega Drive Mortal Kombat games all the time with my mates a few years ago when money was scarce. I'd become so used to the dodgy graphics that when I saw the DS version it blew me away.

DS version of Ultimate MK is phenomenal. LOVE it to death. Just hate having to play it on a DS. Too small for me.

I've never understood the appeal of Mortal Kombat. Unessential violence and uninteresting characters.

They were the coolest games in the arcade once*. Had it all: cool characters, over the top moves, loads of secrets to find out and, best of all, horrific unessential violence and gore. Now everyone bums Street Fighter though. Oh well

*if you were a 10 year old kid when they came out.

Yeah Mortal Kombat was the shit when I was a kid. I find them hard to play now. There a bit craptastic. Im quite optimistic about the new one that's due out. Looks quite nifty.

I'm looking foward to that one too. Check out this beast of a stick they made for it:

Looks just like the mortal kombat 3 arcade controls. Bit silly for this game which isn't even out in the arcades though.

Mortal Kombat is actually pretty epic, the characters are all really interesting and the OTT gore and attitude make it really fun to play.

Except it's not fun to play, the fighting system is clunky and awkward.

Really hope the new one sorts things out, I've been keeping a keen eye on all of the trailers.
