Rayman or Rabbids?

Post by Quills on Wheels »

Besically It's mostly about the poll. If your reading this, than do the poll. I am very curious to know if you like Rayman more or Rabbids. Did Ubisoft do the right thing replacing Rayman with the Rabbids?

Despite it's sadistic difficulty, the first Rayman is a cult classic. Rayman 2 is one the best 3D platform games ever made in my opinion. Rayman 3 is a bit too weird for it's own good, but has some really nice moments.

Raving Rabbids is a decent party game filled with critters who got incredibly annoying with time. Probably wouldn't mind them if it they hadn't killed the Rayman franchise. But they did.

Rayman. For sure. A great game and Michel Ancel would agree with me!

I never bothered to play Rabbids. The first two rayman games were the best. I've never played number 3 so I really want to know what makes that one odd?

I have it. It's not that odd. Still has the normal stuff. Just this time, with the throwing of Lums (or whatever he throws), you also throw other stuff depending on what power you get.

First of all the story in Rayman 3 is allot sillier than the first two. It doesn't take itself too serious, which I guess is fine, though I prefer the rather serious story with silly moments of the first two games. Characters like Murphy (the little green flying helper-guy from Rayman 2) get's really tedious because their role as "Comic relief".

The gameplay is good, almost as good as the 2nd. The different powerups mixes things up a bit, though the funky acid-trip sections could need a touch up.

What I really didn't get was how, if you want to go back to earlier stages to collect all the stuff you missed, there was no level select screen. The game kept automatically sending me to the last level. I guess if I ever cleared that one 100% they'd send me to another level, but I never managed to do that...

There were some cool minigames in Rayman 3. I like the 2.5D version of Rayman 1.

Rayman was one the best platfromers back in the day, now the Rabbids are taking the limelight away from him, which is ridiculous if you ask me.

I think it was a good idea to branch the Rabbids off into their own little series, so that Ubi could go back to making the Rayman series a platforming series and not an annual gluttony of mini games and assorted rubbish.

However, I think the Rabbid thing is getting stale now. I think there's been a game released every year since the Wii was launched, and whilst rabbits going DAHHHHHHHHHHHHH was funny, and amusing, to start off with, it's just old now.
