Not all, still don't like drift or labyrinth.

Sonic Drift isn't that bad, considering it's an 8-bit racing game released for a handheld. Labyrinth isn't all that great, mind.

I'd quite like the old Bizarre Creations back, if I'm being honest. I'm sure Lucid Games will keep Bizarre's mantra going and everything, but it'll never be quite the same.

I didn't understand the fuss about Bizarre Creations. Yes, I mourned the loss of another British developer, however, the only game of theirs I have ever thought "Hey, this is pretty neat" about was Geometry Wars.

I quite liked a few of their games. The various iterations of Geometry Wars were pretty good, but then there's also Boom Boom Rocket, The Club, MSR, Project Gothams 1 to 4..

Very talented devs. The only game you could probably say was below par is possibly 007: Blood Stone.

Ah! I forgot about BBR! That was pretty cool too. But their big name titles never really did anything for me. Perhaps they might have had more success as a smaller, XBLA/PSN/cheap Steam focused developer?

That might be the direction Lucid goes in, who knows? I don't think being bought out by Activision really helped them in the long run.

Reminds me a little of SEGA Racing Studio actually. Made one game (SEGA Rally Revo), get bought out by Codemasters, don't do a lot, get disbanded. Least, I think it was Codies...

Has being bought out by Activision ever been a good thing?

Sounds like a "If you can't beat them, join them" scenario to me. Codies make the Colin McRae/DIRT franchise. Rival publisher makes a rally game. Buy developer that made such rally game. Disband them. One less rival in the market.

I'm trying to think of a developer who have been bought by Acti and are still making good headway. I can't really think of one, though Infinity Ward do spring to mind. Not sure if Acti bought them though, or if they're a 3rd party who just so happen to develop games exclusively for them.
