Why bother when it will just be torn to shreds & points blatantly ignored?
No, please contribute. I'm genuinely interested in seeing your view; especially if you care as much as you imply you do.

I must admit, I'm interested in people's point of view on this as well.

On a side note, I can only wonder how much longer it'll be until Anon and LulzSec attempt to take each other down...

After researching both parties and investigated further, I can throw down my two cents:
Kaito-kun wrote:That's what annoys me about this new lot. I wasn't a supporter of Anonymous but I could see their logic and reasoning for who they targeted with their "We're doing to to protect the rights of humanity" rhetoric but Lulzsec are just pathetic. They appear to be causing disturbances for the sake of it. No fantasies about trying to save the world, no sinister government agency trying to take down the enemy; Lulzsec appear to be nothing more than a gaggle of basement dwellers sitting in the dark announcing "hurr durr we iz takin down ur webz an stealin ur details". I can't understand why anyone in their right mind would be supportive of their actions.
There's obviously an invisible line between Anon and LulzSec. As you said, Anon are actually fighting for the rights of humanity (if you're saying they're twats, watch V for Vendetta carefully and understand their true objective). LulzSec, for the contrary, aren't standing up to anyone but themsels. As they mentioned in their 1000th Tweet Statement, anyone could've entered our accounts and is just toying with you. Yes, they did not release the Brink user details. But that doesn't mean they are good for any reason. They are bringing unwanted attention, and the things that they are doing will bring unwanted consequences, especially from governaments and their internet-specific laws.

The only thing they are right on is that no-one's safe. that still doesn't mean they should toy with people because of "security".

Why do you think Anon wear Fawkesian masks? Just wonder.

Taking inspiration from a comic book is maybe not the best defense for them.

Not the comic, the movie. Even though it's based from it, there are some truths to their objectives. Just look at AnonOps and you'll see why. People are standing up to their governaments. People are sick of being pushed around.

But since I won't convince you otherwise, might as well zip it for now.

They believe that they're righting for rights; it doesn't necessarily mean that they are.
