What is it with Capcom and cancelling Mega Man games recently? I've not really been looking forward to either of them, but they were starting to really get some hype going, and Capcom have pulled the plug both times.
I think they're going to need to do more than say "the franchise is still relevant" after cancelling two titles in quick succession. Some proof would be nice.

Capcom have the insane idea in their head that no-one in the west cares about Megaman.Gavvie wrote:What is it with Capcom and cancelling Mega Man games recently? I haven't even seen a Megaman game in the shops before, nevermind play one.
They were probably popular for a bit in America in the 90s, a bit like Contra, but everywhere else just thought it was some weird, crap platformer. And these days the only people who will have heard of him are the sort who know what the word desu means.

I got some stickers of a pink Megaman free when I bought something from play-asia once. I put them on my gamecube but all my mates thought I'd put power rangers or something on it, so to avoid confusion I had to change them for some Euro '96 football stickers I found in the loft. Clarence Seedorf had dreadlocks then.

Now, now, be fair, the majority of people you're thinking of are the type to use desu without knowing what it means. (It's along the lines of the verb "to be" or "is" or "am")Killer French Bread wrote:

This news disappointed me greatly when I´ve read it yesterday.
I just couldn´t believe it. A game where it focused the interaction of the developers and the fans that I never saw before, with polls, contests, with the idea to revive a game waited for years, all trashed.
I knew something like this could happen after the departure of Inafune, but I had hope. It´s like he was the one who pushed Megaman these times, not Capcom. Now without him, I can´t see Capcom trying with Megaman at all.
Two cancelled games in a row, a no representation of Megaman himself in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (Altough this one is subjetive). I would like to know the route they´re going to follow after this.
It´s safe to say that Megaman is now in a worse situation than Sonic was in his rough times.
