Street Fighter (Series)
I was gonna post some new loctest footage but instead here's Harada dressed as Lili:

alright here's your loctest footage
Hugo looks really weird in 3D to me.

Okay, so I'm thinking about getting into the Street Fighter series and I wanna know, what game should I start with?
I played II on SNES a few years back and failed misreably at it. Mind you, back then, I didn't care much for fighting games. I seem to be a bit obsessed with them now, however.
I asked a friend which one I should try first and I think she said II or III. I can't remember exactly, as I always delete my messages off my PS3. I asked her since she has that online one and I figured she'd be the best person to ask.
But now I want your opinion, members of RadioSega's forums!

The Alpha series is a good place to start too, especially Alpha 2 and 3, due to the Alpha Counter and such.Reknoc wrote:You can't go wrong with either 2 or 3. 3 has amazing sprite work and a pretty neat parry system, 2 is simpler and has all the iconic characters.
Heck, even 4 is a good starting point.
As for the main series, I can go and recommend II because, as Rek said, it's simpler and has the iconic characters, III: 3rd Strike due to the unexpectedly good Parry system and, again, sprite work, and IV, even if it's Super or Arcade Edition, due to the Focus Attack and the ability to cancel it into Ultras, the music and some of the new characters too, like Viper or El Fuerte.
Plus, IV has a simpler learning curve, rather than III, which makes things easier.
EDIT: We should actually try some lag matches online, as we're speaking a lot about fighters, and this amuses me. :3
...I was this close to spitting on the monitor, that is why Harada and Ono amuse me.Reknoc wrote:I was gonna post some new loctest footage but instead here's Harada dressed as Lili:
And from my location test, I thought that too, along with "dammit, Rolento looks really badass here."
I live here now!
You guys are so helpful~
Anyway, I don't have any money at the moment, so I can't buy or even rent SFIV, but I do have around $14 in my PSN wallet. I took a look on the store earlier and there was a lot of SF games, trailers and avatars.
I might take a better look later and see what I can find.
EDIT: I just took a look on the store and SF II and III are on there, with fancy names and whatnot. They're both $23, so if I want them badly enough, I'll have to get another $30 PSN card when I can afford it.

SFII is probably a better starting point than SFIII since III's parry system is only used in that game, and in no other SF game ever. IV is good too, as it plays almost like SFII (which is what they wanted), but it's more expensive, and you can get SFII dirt cheap almost everywhere.
I heavily advice against the Alpha games too, they're fairly complex.
