The House of the Dead 3&4 comes to Playstation 3

Post by Twinny »

Thanks to the RadioSEGA Twitter (and approval from Kaito-Kun) the classic rail-gun shooter comes from out the arcades to the PS3.

The first of the titles, The House of the Dead 3 will be released for the Playstation Network this Febuary 3. The second one, House of the Dead 4, also marking it's first home console release, comes to PSN later this spring.

Both titles will include Playstation Move support, updated HD graphics, and trophy support.

I'm so glad Move is being used for lightgun shooters.

No wait, what's the opposite of glad?

I'm not a big fan of House of the Dead. Though I finished the arcade HotD 3 and played somewhat till the end of HotD 4 and watched it being finished.

Not quite sure why people are saying that House of the Dead 3 is making an exclusive appearance on PS3..in HD, yes, but it has been released on three other formats prior to this one.

I am excited to see House of the Dead 4 finally get a home release though. It has been too long..probably a bit too long thinking about it, mind you. Would like to see how much they sell for.

This is my first reason for buying Move. Something tells me it will also be the last reason unless Sega comes up with Virtua Cop. One can always hope!

Virtua Cop is the only lightgun series that SEGA have left isn't it, really? Unless they port Ghost Squad over.

Would love to see VC in HD though, the first two games were ace, and I quite enjoyed the third one in the arcade.

They could always release Rambo, 2 Spicy and The Lost World:Jurassic Park. Atleast I would not mind :)

Of those three, I imagine 2Spicy is the only game they hold the rights to, what with the other two being licensed movie games.

Well it looks like HotD 4's "sequel" is also headed to re-release as well.

First off, the game is going to be released on April 17th, for the lovely prices of $9.99/£6.49/€7.99. Oh yeah, levels from "House of the Dead 4 Special will now make their first ever appearence on home consoles. In additon, a Playstation HOME item will become available as an unlockable. An interview with the creator will also be available.

For Playstation Plus members, Sonic Wrecks's Tracker the Dog reveals:
Also, a demo will be available from 10th April to the 24th April, exclusively to PlayStation Plus members. Plus members also get a 30% discount on the full game until 1st of May. And, as if that wasn’t enough, Plus members ALSO get access to an exclusive dynamic theme for the XMB, and some avatars. A pretty snazzy package, eh Plus members?

Aaand here's a trailer!
