What I meant by taking games "too seriously" is that looking at their flaws too hard. You just search the game for every flaw, some which aren't even that noticeable or important. The smallest flaws are turned into the biggest catastrophes for you and you don't enjoy the game because you take them too seriously.

Now I'm not saying that you do that(though you probably do) but it's the fact that some people don't mind some games that much because the flaws that some people complain about, aren't that noticeable for them and still makes the game enjoyable.

While I'm getting the same thoughts from what you said, sometimes those small flaws are noticeable and can be important to how the flow of the game goes if they occur frequently. Now, I'm not going to directly point the finger as you are trying to do, as this more of a generalization to many in my opinion.

Mind you, I'd still enjoy Generations for all that it's worth. Sure there are hiccups in the game that either should have been fixed or touched upon more closely, but the overall entertainment of the product overshadowed that.

NOSTALGIA..yeah, that's it.

And after reading over my post on AAA games and yours, I'm going to say I dont care what is percieed as AAA; some games don't deserve the budget they are being given to make said game. I'll stick to how I percieve AAA games are...by how much I enjoy the product.

So, because I dare to say that some games aren't very good, I'm taking them too seriously? Nah, I don't take games seriously, but it is my hobby and something I enjoy.

What, Nostalgia? What's that got to do with anything, or are you making up a new definition for that as well?

To me the people who take games way to seriously are the ones who ignore the flaws and defends the game no matter what, then all they do is bitch and moan when someone complains about the flaws

When it comes to Generations a few flaws lead to alot of cheap deaths which is serious on my mind. I like the game but ignoring the flaws is stupid.

Hahaha...no, I'm just saying crap to make this disscussion worthwhile, that's all. *expressing same face as my avatar*

Nah, but when it comes down to it, Generations is banked on nostalgia. Cmon, what else is there for this game being made other than celebrating 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog?

No one here had the Nostalgia Filter on while playing this game, at least during the "Genesis/Classic" era? XD

Sonic Generations I havent even come around to play yet. Is still packed in the Amazon paper box. But from the little I have played the demo it seems to improve a lot over the previous efforts released on the xbox/ps3 atleast.
Hopefully this is a good sign when it comes to the current state of Sonic Team and their ability to make good games without Naka.

Naka...er....hmm....

Even with him on board at the time, there were still some crappy Sonic games you know.

Most of which he was only credited as a producer.

Still was a part of Sonic Team some way or another....during those dark days or the franchise.

Got anything else to say about it then?

Itagaki was also still part of Team Ninja when they made garbage like Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Doesn't mean he had any part in it.
