Ah that makes more sense. In that case if the cartoon is good (from what I read and saw of the few trailers and such, there's a much more positive reception to that than the games currently) at least Sonic Boom will have something good on its hands.

This can be applied to any game of that time. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro etc.

Well the difference with them is that Naughty Dog and Insomniac ditched those series to move onto bigger and better things, so in a sense they did stay in their era.
