Chickaroo Reviews - Pokemon X (3DS)

Post by chickaroo1 »

It’s a new generation of Pokemons! And for the first time, it’s in 3D! Rejoice Pokemon Fans!!Game: Pokemon X / Pokemon Y
Systems: Nintendo 3DS
Release Dates: 10/12/13 (World Wide)
Developers: Game Freak
A New Generation of Pokemon!
Story: The story is pretty much the same as all the other Pokemon games. Set in the Kalos Region, you play as a teenaged boy/girl as you and your group of friends set out to become Pokemon masters. They’ll have to defeat many city gym leaders and earn their badges. It’s a very linear story.
Now in 3D!!!
Gameplay: For the first time in an actual Pokemon game that isn’t a spin-off game that’s in 3D! Instead from an overhead perspective, the camera sometimes goes for a behind the character perspective and it’s really cool. You can move around in a strict way with the D-pad or use the analog stick to move around smoothly in roller skates. The camera is still in a over head perspect. Walking in tall grass will trigger Pokemon battles.
Pokemon battles are still played out in a traditional sense. Each Pokemon can learn up to 4 moves at a time. And you can level them up the more they fight. After a certain amount of levels, you Pokemon could level up!
A new feature to Pokemon X is that you can play with your Pokemon! There’s an option that you can play with your Pokemon. You can pet them, feed them and play games with them.
It’s a really fun game.
Welcome to Next-Gen, Finally!
Graphics: The graphics are spectacular! Everything looks smooth and very colorful. It’s in 3D and trainer introductions are in nice 2D drawing. It looks so amazingly good and beautiful.
The Sounds of Next-Gen
Music: The music here is pretty good! The main town in the game is Paris-themed so expect some sounds from France. The battle music sounds very clear and nice to hear.
Music is composed by Shota Kageyama, Minako Adachi, Hitomi Sato, and Junichi Masuda.
The Next Best Pokemon Game?
Overall: Pokemon X is a really good game. The game looks very good in 3D and it was about damn time too. New and old Pokemon fans will definitely enjoy this game!
