Um, don't quite follow your "It's not and they will", but I disagree that announcing DLC before a game's release is always "a joke". It really depends on what the DLC is. If it's something cosmetic, like an alternate player skin, then yeah, that ought to be on the game disc and available for all players. But to announce a different episode, a side story mission or something else significant like that I have no problem with, unless it's already on the disc and all you're buying when you buy the DLC is a 2KB unlock code file. I'm not super au fait with Alien Isolation's content, but I think the DLC is Ellen Ripley's story, whereas the main game stars Ripley's daughter 2 or 3 decades after the Nostromo incident. So that counts as a significant side story episode that I'd have no problem paying extra for (but not for too much of course
