Yeah for memory storage you don't need them but to use the VMUs one interesting feature and don't want it beeping at you when you turn your DC on you need to replace the batterys.

Yeah, but I think it would be a nice tuch if a new VMU would be added to a new console's controller. What if it could recharge itself when it is connected to the remote. That wouldn't be bad.

MS made memory cards redundant as soon as someone said "you know you could probably stick a harddrive in there" even for portablility people realised everyone has a USB stick.

The controls don't need to be bigger to support something rubbish.

Probably have to pick the Saturn Model 2 controller. It just feels so right in my hand. Also like the 3D pad, though the analogue stick is place just a bit too high up on it.

And the Model 1 pad is terrible...

I've never actually tried the Model 1 pad but I always wanted to, mainly because of the dpad on it. The dpad looks pretty interesting. But yeah, I agree with you on the model 2..feels perfect.
