Black Ops is number 7 in the main console series.

Aren't you way too young to play games like CoD? O_o

Anway, I'll be completely honest:
I wish they would stop with the war-shooter-mass. May it be CoD, Battlefield, Medal of Honor or any of the other similar games. They look the same, play the same, feel the same and are all the same stuff. They have some different skins for weapons, vehicles and models if they have different themes (such as WW2), but otherwise it's all just the same.

I remember back in the day when shooter were creative... I miss games like the old Doom, Quake and Unreal/UT. They now all feel not really outstanding too - UT specifically what with the vehicles and all - war-shooter in a futuristic setting. Meh.

^What do you mean too young?
I am 13! Isn't that enough? People are 8 and play Left 4 Dead...

Oh. Well, maybe but I don't mind playing FBS shooting games, as long as they aren't monster ones.

Well I'm definitly part of the problem since I still find enjoyment in modern FPS games.

Though you're so wrong Option it hurts. Battlefield is awesome and plays nothing like CoD or MoH. :I

Also is Black Ops modern? I'm still under the impression that it's 'Nam. Or am I just thinking of the Bad Company 2 expansion?

I meant all war-shooters, not only those of the present - I mean from WW2 until now, basically.
I may have some good news for you.

Oh jeez. Can't wait to play a creative FPS, then. :3
Might need to whip out my GC and play some TS2 as celebration.
