Sonic Free Riders

Post by Gavvie »

This is my third Sonic-themed topic in here in just under 10 minutes. I wonder what could be next...

Of the three Sonic games shown at E3, I must admit this is the one that looks a bit...odd. Not graphically or gameplay wise, mind you. I'm fairly sure you know by now what you're getting with a Riders game (although I don't, having never owned one).

No, I'm talking about the fact that this game has been developed for Kinect, and the fact that you generally look like a bit of a prat whilst playing it. Add in Wii MotionPlus support and you could basically port it to the Wii with little trouble.

Still, I can see it being a game that kids enjoy more than anybody. Early days to say for sure, but my first impressions aren't that great.

Sonic Riders is one of the sub-series I like the most, and I still play them.

It excited me at first because it was a new entry, I never thought of a possible third version, since it lacks of popularity.
In a way I´m disappointed too, because it´s only for Kinect, and since I don´t own an Xbox 360, and since it´s the console I´ll never get, chances of playing this are almost nil.

I've never actually played a Sonic Riders game. Shock horror! D:

But, this will definitely NOT be the first one I do play. If it was playable without Kinect, I would probably be interested in finally trying it out, but I'm really on the fence with Kinect. If it's gonna cost £100, then I certainly won't be buying it at launch. Least you can play Child of Eden with either Kinect or a control pad; having the choice is nice.

from the gameplay demo on yt the gameplay looks similar to the wii so ur part on port would b doable but with zero gravity being as bad as it was (bar the soundtrack) this game could be rubbish and have no ports

Sonic Free Riders Shows How Bad Kinect Controls Can Be

+1 to Sonic's list of game failures. What's the total now?

^Objection?

I never liked Sonic Riders. But i Loved Zero Gravity (Trust me to enjoy the worse one out of the two). Free riders looks intersting. I shall pick it up if i ever decide to get Kinect and see what i think of it. The main theme (Fly Higher!) sounds awesome and very sonicer riders xD
