Sonic 'Went Extreme'???

Post by Twinny »

Ï was checking out the Sonic fansite Sonic Wrecks and one of its top stories was this completely forgotten Sonic title called "Sonic the Hedgehog Extreme." Not to be confused with the known and forgotten Sonic X-treme, Sonic Wrecks said this game was uncovered "via an XBOX Dev Kit," where "this appears to be a spin-off/tech demo of sorts showcasing a more practical, real-life skateboarding styled game based around the City Escape’s boarding mechanic and subsequent Sonic Adventure 2 Battle versus battles."

Now, Sonic findings like this are pretty surprising to me and judging by the videos shown, it looked like an early version of Sonic Riders.

So, what do you all think of the hidden 'treasure?' You think it could have gotten potential, or it's another Sonic game down the crapper?

Very, very interesting. Most likely crap, but I wonder if the demo is available anywhere to try...

Someone should put this hidden "treasure" back in the hole they dug it up from. xD

Not sure what to say. Because I don't know what to say. I'll probably say more when I get back to Australia.
So a early version of Sonic Riders? interesting.

It looks like it could've been a design concept for Sonic Riders. Doesn't look very good, but then this isn't meant to actually be a finished game, so who knows how far into development that was?

Kinda glad they dropped it though, that would have been pretty silly.

I'm more curious about why that site randomly has ソニックボロボロ (Sonic boroboro) underneath Sonic Wrecks. (Which I'm assuming is the website title.)

But wait, there's more! Seems more info has shed more light on this mysterious game:http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/sh ... hp?t=32837

Now there's only one thing that comes to mind from this: man, do they still make those Tech Deck toys?

I'm not sure if they do. Funnily enough the Tech Deck game got cancelled as well XD

You must be a shite company if you can use the same engine for two completely different franchises, one of which isn't exactly known for quality, and manage to get both cancelled. Well done.
