Chickaroo Reviews - Mighty Switch Force! (3DS)

Post by chickaroo1 »

Meet Patricia Wagon (get it), a cool and tough cop who’s after criminals in this highly addicting puzzle-platformer.Game: Mighty Switch Force! / Mighty Switch Force!: Hyperdrive Edition
Systems: Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U
Release Dates: 3DS: 12/22/11 (World Wide), 11/13/13 (JP)
Wii U: 11/18/12 (NA), 12/6/12 (EU), 6/6/13 (AUS)
Developers: WayForward Technologies
Patty Wagon On The Case!
Story: The Hooligan Sisters are up to no good as they unleashed an evil force! Now it’s up to Patty to arrest the girls for justice!
Justice is Served With Blocks
Gameplay: The goal in every level is to capture all 6 girls and take them to jail. And how you get to them is a complete puzzle.
Patty has a little light on her helmet that with a press of most buttons on the 3DS, can make blocks visible or invisible (with an outline). No, you can’t move them but you can platform on them. Simply jump on them or there are some that lock when you step on them or ones that can blast you off into a certain direction.
To defend Patty’s self, she is equipped with a little lazer gun. She has an unlimited amount of ammo so shoot as you please.
This game can get addicting and tough as nails!
Pixel Patty
Graphics: This game almost falls under the typical “indie game with pixelated graphics” category. But in the Hyper Drive Edition, the graphics are remade in smooth HD. Overall on the 3DS, they’re nice.
Techno-Jam
Music: The soundtrack is really good. It’s techno but with some 8-bit remixes thrown in. It’ll remind you of old school games from the 80’s/90’s.
Music is composed by Jake Kaufman.
Addicting, Much?
Overall: Mighty Switch Force! is a pretty addicting game. Solving puzzles by switching blocks, the music is really good, and as well as Patty kind of being a nod to Samus from the Metroid series. It’s a good game but it will get tough as you keep going.
