Musical remix collective GameLark Records have announced today their next upcoming fan album, titled SUPERSONIC, celebrating Sonic the Hedgehog’s 25th anniversary. In this announcement, quoted below, the press release and accompanying video shed some light on the making behind the album:
"For 25 years, Sonic has raced across screens and captured the hearts and minds of gamers all over the world. Part of Sonic's unique charm was the incredible soundtracks that accompanied his adventures. GameLark Records presents a journey through Sonic's discography starting with "Sonic the Hedgehog" and finishing with "Sonic Advance 3". Ranging from thrash metal to house music, SUPERSONIC presents the most complete representation of Sonic's musical history to date."
The official release won’t be until Saturday, March 12th, but you can view the tracklist and sample some of the soundtrack’s music here in this Amazon link. On release date, more links will be available for your avenue of choice, which we will update this article with. In addition, you can preview two of the songs in SUPERSONIC for your listening pleasure; one being an Ice Cap Zone remix and the other from Sonic Heroes' Seaside Hill by the composing duo of Joshua Taipale and Charles Ritz.
