In the current era of costly and rushed developments I don't see something like that - which would be considered by marketing/accounts as unessential and a waste of development time - happening any time soon.kadosho wrote:I have been wondering why no one's tried to implement more physics with in-game weather. Seems to be a fading design scheme. But its possible that more titles down the line may open up possibilities for all sorts from storms to rough seas. I can think of a few that might try..

I was gonna make a "Video Game Environments" thread for this but I just figured I can fit it in this one but it would be nice if the topic of this thread would be changed to "whether and environments in gaming".
Basically I was playing through Serious Sam the other day and I just realized how much I hate sewer levels. I absolutely HATE sewer levels, especially the ones which you gotta go down water and swim in a tunnel to get to the other side an crap. They're dark, creepy and you can't see properly due to the lack of light and dirty water. This is usually a big deal for me when the game is an monster/zombie shooter FPS and wants you to go underwater to get something. In such games(like Half Life or Serious Sam), there are chances that a underwater monster exists and I just utterly have having shoot it down. It's a pain usually as you can't see much underwater and controls are a bit hard to do. Thus, a big pain.
