The last school disco I went to, The Smurfs Dance Party was on the playlist. I think I was about 7.

..I ended up buying the album on cassette a couple of weeks later. Unfortunately I no longer have it, though I reckon it's probably kicking around on the Net somewhere if you wanted to look for it.

I remember thinking when I was about 11 -12 they were horrific and I'd sit around downing panda pops wondering what the point was. Was probably about 14-15 when I realised that alcohol and women were the point. They were great after that.

A bit hair raising though. I remember taking a bag of fireworks to one and setting them off behind people. So yeah, drunk idiots setting off pop rockets. Madness, one nearly hit me in the head. They had this one guy who was supposed to stop all the trouble (and who thought he was some hard nut because he's done some kid version of the T.A.). The whole time he was hunting us down like some t-1000, but in the end these bigger lads turned up from another school and started trying to batter him. He ran out the school gates for his life and they were chasing after him in an old ford mondaeo.

Another gem from KFB's tome of misadventures. Thank you for sharing.

Fancy a Panda Pop now...
