Sonic 4: Ep. 2's Collaborative Play Comes in C-C-C-Combos!

As May comes closer for the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, we get a first look at the new tag abilities that you'll be able to activate in the downloadable title.

Want some c-c-c-combo's with that? Well Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 can deliver! SEGA's Digital Campaigns Manager, Mike Kebby was on the PlayStation Blog recently and went over the special tag moves that Sonic & Tails can unleash in the game. Plus all three can be utilized in both single-player (when Sonic is controlled and Tails only through the tag moves) and co-op (local and online) modes.

First up is the Copter Combo, which is a major shout out towards Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, allowing our spiny blue hero to get some much need assistance from his little fox buddy when Tails becomes the player's control as you maneuver him to reach otherwise unreachable and unobtainable areas and obstacles.

Second, is the Submarine Combo, in which Sonic can finally overcome his fear of water as Tails can pick him up and swim across underwater areas, scuba-style. of course, those air bubbles are still your only lifeline if don't want to hear that hellish countdown noise, but at least there's no hassle since your foxy teammate's support!

And lastly, we have everyone favorite combo, the 69 Rolling Combo! This one was the move nearly everybody seen countless times since the trailer debuted, but Kebby officially goes into what this move does. it allows Sonic & Tails to combine into a giant Spin Dash, increasing not only the speed of the move, but unleash the pain on enemies and the environment as well.

Plus there's more chances to use combos in the game, but Kebby holds off on that until later!

So after given descriptions of the c-c-c-comboooos you'll use in the game, what's your impressions on the game now? Give us your take in the comments section below or in the Sonic 4.2 thread over at our message boards!

Thanks to the EU PlayStation Blog for the new info!
