Cody Chavez needs your help to record an orchestral Sonic the Hedgehog medley.
Cody Chavez is a gamer and a musician that attended his first Video Games Live concert in 2005 and set himself a goal: to arrange some of the world's best known video game music to be performed by an orchestra and to try and record said arrangements.
He's turned to the crowd funding platform Kickstarter to achieve this with two new projects: his Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis medley, with music from the 16-bit titles, and his Halo Suite.
The Sonic medley includes Green Hill Zone, Metropolis Zone, Big Arms and Sky Sanctuary. The thing is studio time and the orchestra itself require a significant amount of money to book, hence the Kickstarter project. Cody is asking for $8,000 to achieve his goal.
"I will be contracting the same group, a full 50- piece orchestra via orchestra.net, to re-record Sonic: GENESIS along Halo. The cost of a recording session with the group is $2500 + per hour. It is a usual minimum 3 hour booking session which would bring us to $7500, with the remaining funds going towards paying for mixing and mastering, licensing fees, and an orchestrator ( will make sure the piece is optimal for recording purposes). If we raise more than our target, we will be able to record more than the two pieces , which could include the Sonic 2 Ending Theme, Mario Through The Years: A Super Mario Medley, the NES medley, Aerith's Theme (FF7), or the Mother 3 suite."

Currently, the project has 5 backers and a total of $47.00 pledged with 28 days to go.
