The 2011 collaborative effort of Dr. Mack Foxx and EspioKaos of Sonic Paradox is now re-released for your enjoyment.
RadioSEGA regulars should remember a certain interview we did last year regarding the release of a piano/electronic remix album of Sonic 2 8-bit tracks. Behind the project were Sonic Paradox members Philip “Dr. Mack Foxx” Byard and John “EspioKaos” Weeks, alongside Thomas "Recorderdude" Hart.
Well, Dr. Mack Foxx and EspioKaos are back on the news. This time, they’re re-releasing their first ever collaborative effort: Sonic the Hedgehog - Piano Redux.
Here’s the official press release we were sent for the occasion:
"Back in early 2010, an aspiring musician and novice composer, teamed up with a veteran MIDI sequencer. The goal? Give music from video games, namely songs from the Sonic the Hedgehog game series, a new kind of feel by using a piano/electronic sound scheme.
Thus, the duo of Philip “Dr. Mack Foxx” Byard and John “EspioKaos” Weeks began a 4-year collaborative effort that continues today with an ever-growing collection of covers and remixes. Their focus has mostly been on earlier Sonic games released on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.
In 2011, they would release their first complete album: a collection of all the songs from the first Sonic game redone as piano/electronic covers. We now proudly present a re-release of this early compilation by Dr. Mack Foxx and EspioKaos from Sonic Paradox!"
