Multiplayer or Single Player experiences?

Post by Kaito-kun »

Simple question, which do you prefer and why?

Personally I prefer solo experiences. I don't like people. Especially not strangers on the internet.

The sad thing is that developers seem intent in watering down the single player experience as much as possible these days in favour of the multiplayer modes. Darn them.

If a game doesn't have a good single player experience then the game is likely to flop. Single Player games always have good stories, even if the game has online the Single Player is what must stand out more. Online Multiplayer is most just battling each other, really no fun there.

Single player for me. If the game's made for that type of experience and it works, then I'm all for it. I remember there was a time when single player mode actually meant something...

And this is so true sadly, game developers these days want to shove that multiplayer nonsense onto those the don't care for it cuz it's the norm these days (thank you games like Halo, all Call of Duty and the like).

I tend to lean more towards single player but it really depends on the game.

No one is really doing this though, most of the time multiplayer and singleplayer are made by entirely different teams.

Unless it's Capcom, but lol capcom.

Single player. Why? I get the most out of a well-rounded solo campaign; not from online mutliplayer affairs. If it was local then yes, but pfft that age is slowly phasing its way out the door.

Single Player for me too. Simply because I like to play on my own. A solo campaign always tend to offer more content.
I can add also that I'm not much into the competitive/cooperative side either, so I consider the multiplayer aspect to be a plus to the main game. A whole game built on this wouldn't be a selling point for me. Having said that, I accept local multi to an extent though.

May be coincidence, but this happened days ago. I just found it the other day.

I'll go with the opinion of the fellow Australian critic, Yahtzee.

"A game as to be able to perfectly stand on its own Single Player BEFORE moving on to its multiplayer as an added bonus."

What about fighting games, or sports games?

Yahtzee's a Brit, y'know. He just lives down under.
