Saturday Night SEGA

RadioSEGA's Olympic Relay - Friday 27th July

Three of RadioSEGA's DJs are teaming up with a new challenger for a four hour epic. Read on for all the news!

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 7 years or so, you should be mildly aware that the London 2012 Olympics start in a couple of days. In fact, you could even argue that the Games have started today, as the Women's Football event kicked off earlier. Well, we at RadioSEGA wanted to honour this momentous occasion with our very own alternative to the Opening Ceremony.

This Friday, starting at 8pm UK Time, we're going to be holding our very own Olympic Relay, starring three current RadioSEGA DJs, as well as a brand new addition to the Team. The concept of the Relay is simple - the first DJ starts at 8pm, and broadcasts for an hour. As soon as they're done, the second DJ will jump onto the stream and continue on with the show. The same happens for the switchovers for the third and fourth DJs.

There's a few games that we'll be featuring, the list of which you'll find below. You CAN request music tracks from these games, and these games ONLY. DJs are free to field their own musical choices outside of the list, but these are going to be kept to a minimum so we can focus on the following games:

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii & DS versions)
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Wii & DS versions)
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (Wii version only)
SEGA Superstars Tennis
Victory Goal '96
Victory Goal '97
Virtua Tennis
Virtua Tennis 2
Wrestle War

Another point to note regarding requests: Whilst we have four DJs during this event, it will all count as one show, so you can't request the same song for another DJ if it got played by a previous one. All four DJs are sharing the same Tracklisting file, so if a request is duplicated it won't be played again. If you'd rather a request get played by a specific DJ, then you'll need to mention that at the time, otherwise it'll be whoever picks it up first. If you do happen to miss any part of the Relay, the entire four hour show will show up on SEGA Media for you to enjoy. We won't be offering the individual hours up for either download or streaming.

All that remains now is to reveal the team that'll be going for Gold during the Relay. First up, taking the opening 8-9pm timeslot, is our newest DJ - Titans Creed! The host of the popular Community Spotlight series on YouTube, Titans Creed is looking into the possibility of a show on RadioSEGA, but his first port of call is to start the Olympic Relay off. Following on, in the 9-10pm timeslot, is Random Hour host foreversonic! This timeslot covers the first hour of the Random Hour timeslot, and the second half will be presented by myself, Gavvie. Last, but most certainly not least, ResidentSD will close the night off from 11pm-12am in his usual Late and Live slot.

I hope you'll join us from 8pm UK Time on Friday 27th July for an alternative Olympics opening ceremony full of sporty SEGA tracks. It's something you won't want to miss!

Sadly, I won't be able to listen live. Good thing there are handsome podcasters out there... ;)

Neat! Though I'll be seeing the opening ceremony anyway (thanks for the time delay NBC!) this can get me ready for it! Now about the requests....when can we actually do that...now or during the Relay?

Whenever is best for yourself, though the sooner the better.
